I have the rebuilt the clock, anyways. And I know that by stock it is electric. But I can get a $50 kit to rebuild back to electric or a $70 to get quartz. What do you suggest? Is quartz that much better that it is worth going non-stock? And, who would find out my clock isn't stock. :) It isn't working now, so I have to rebuild anyways.

And I'll have my middle console apart to put in heater unit and work on the 8-track, so I might as well get the clock up to par.

When I rebuild mine, I'm going with the quartz kit. You might shop around as I have seen the quartz kit cheaper than what you have quoted. My understanding is the quartz will prove to be more reliable and originality in that area is not that important to me. Then I can get rid of the Casio that is currently strapped around my emergency brake handle.:L Charles

Cheaper? Where? Who's selling them cheaper? And these kits, I assume, mean that we use our stock "shell" of our clock, and gut it and put everything together..?

GREETINGS, after reworking my original clock. next time (lol) i am going with a quartz unit. my clock constantly runs fast now. i can't get it to slow down, i am sure the quartz timepiece will be far more accurate

HAHA :D

Yes, I think I will go with the quartz. It's worth the extra buck. Where should I buy it? 72Mako said there is cheaper then what I'm looking at.

Stallion, I redid the clock in my '70 cuda awhile back and paid something like 35.00 for the kit. I don't remember where I got that kit as it has been awhile. However a quick search brought up this outfit called clocksandgauges.com. They have the quartz for $51.00. Don't know anything about them, so your're on your own. A search might bring up others with cheaper prices. Charles

Thanks, 72Mako. Yeah, I will do a search. Maybe I will find something cheaper. Whatever I do, I do need to get the clock back up and working, and while I have the middle console out, that's the perfect time. :D
