Congrats! Stop in Tulsa on the way home! :L

We're planning the 'northern' return route through southern Missouri when we come back and will pass through Tulsa late next Wednesday. Won't have time to stop though but you can keep an eye out for an orange Vette on I-44. ;)

:w

Congrats Tunna. I am sure you will love the color...I do. I get nothing but positive comments about the color everywhere I go.

Congratz Tuna. I'm sure you will love this car as much as the others. Don't forget to come back and give us your impressions of the car. :)

Lucky you... I was in your position last November but was just collecting it from a dealer, you must be so excited you will burst.... Am I right in thinking we can watch the handover on webcam??? If so, send me the link and the time I would love to watch you...

The NCM's web site has a link to their webcams. Go to www.corvettemuseum.com and select the Webcams - Live link on the left side. There are 6 delivery cams. I'm not sure which one will be mine yet.

Congrats. I'll be in your shoes in about a month or less, since I'm at the 3000 level right now. Look forward to hearing about the experience. Do you have a list of questions for them at the NCM? Did you order the polished aluminum wheel option? If so, do you know if it can be filled on yours?

Wait a minute. Did you really get rid of the original "Tuna Sport"? Looks like the '92 got sold? Don't see it in your list of vette ownership.

Yeap, the Tuna Sport is gone. It's in North Carolina now. After 14 years of ownership, I got a real wild desire to own a new Vette. I hear from the new owner all the time and he better stop because he's making me wish I hadn't sold it.

Now, I'm looking at it sitting in the National Corvette Museum waiting for me to pick it up this coming Monday and I can't wait to get there and start driving it.

Check out www.corvettemuseum.com and follow the "Webcams" link on the left then select delivery area #5. The new Tuna Sport.

This will be my second museum delivery experience so we must have liked it a lot the first time! 3 years ago, we did the R8C option on our 2003 AE and it was wonderful.

Yes, we have the polished wheels but we got the order in and approved before the constraint on the wheels hit. Our car was built just before Christmas.

Looking fantastic. I'm sure the wait is killing you at this point. It will all be over tomorrow. Congratz again.

That's just typical.... I kept logging in to Delivery 5 all day, saw your lovely new car ... left work at 1800 (1200 your time) it was still there .... got into my PC at home at 1854 and there was an empty space where your C6 had been!!! I suppose I'll have to wait another 10 years to see you take delivery of the next one. When you read this you will be back home, hope you had a great return journey. Maybe you have pics of the journey, let's see them!!

Sorry about that - the assembly line was down due to a break in one of the chains that moves cars around. The guide and my family walked and talked real slow that morning hoping that the line would get going again before we had to get back to the museum. If finally restarted and we got to see everyone hustling around at the point where they sit the cars on their wheels for the first time. My grandson got to start one of the C6's just before it rolled off the line - that was pretty cool for him.

That put our actual delivery show and tell just after noon - I was starving by the time we got the car.

The DSOM and family are home now and doing fine. We put about 100 miles on it around Bowling Green Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning before heading home - another 725 miles. Worked perfectly all the way.

Let us know how you like the Color, did the dirt that it aquired on the drive show much?
I like the color, but being as I live in a rural farming area dirt and dust play a major factor in color choice, I was amazed that the Torch Red hid dirt as well as it does.

The road film for the drive home was mostly grayish and it didn't look that bad - not nearly as bad as it did on my ex-white Vette.

In OK, the dirt is mostly red so it doesn't show that much either - it just makes the car look dull. I'd say that DSOM is a good color for not showing how dirty it really is.

I love the color. It stands out as being different and I like to be different! I'll let my CTS-V be the 'sleeper' in the family.
