Clutch help needed

I have a new engine and clutch and rebuilt Muncie, all with about 750 easy miles on them. The clutch is a Mcleod Street Twin with aluminum flywheel, Lakewood scattershield, adjustable pivot ball and new pilot bushing. Until this problem the clutch has felt the same as the stock clutch it replaced. Same pedal effort and slippage.

All of a sudden I was driving the car last week and the clutch started grabbing very hard almost immediately off the floor. It was to the point I couldn't get the car moving without spinning the tires. If I was on a slight roll all was normal and it feels normal working up through the gears. Here is what I have checked.

1. Motor mounts and transmission mounts are new and seem fine.
2. Lakewood bellhousing was dialed in.
3. Inside of bellhousing seems dry and no big leaks.
4. Pedal free play is unchanged at 1.5 inches.
5. Fork and linkage seems normal and solid.

Could this just be the way this clutch will be when broken in or am I missing something? Thanks for the help.

That's why GM cancelled the MA6 dual-plate heavy-duty clutch after less than a model year; poor reliability, sticking floater plate, and inconsistent take-up. :eyerole

John, I bought this clutch based on many positive recommendations. I was told this clutch would outlast me. I am making 625 horsepower so I felt like I needed to upgrade. I guess I will have to pull it. I was just trying to nurse my Muncie along until the Tremec conversion. Until this the clutch felt great. Reasonable pedal effort and quick revving with the aluminum flywheel.
