Hi it's me again,

How do you know a clutch has had better days?

i starting to have problems putting it in reverse. could this be cause the clutch isn't doing it's job?

any thoughts,

Luc
mr dumbass ..LOL

Two thoughts:

1. check the clutch master cylinder for proper fluid level
2. it may be time to change the tranny oil

Bad clutch would be slippage under power, you would feel it on acceleration

also, check the obvious, the release ring on the shifter. my 90 has one and I need to make sure it is engaged to slip into gear properly.

good luck

You may want to put it into a forward gear, and then into reverse, for a smoother shift. My 88 owners manual advises this and does seem to eliminate the vehicle shudder when you try to bang it into reverse.
