I having a problem with my newer clutch. I gassed hard enough to spin the wheels and after my clutch pedal was on the floor. It barely disengaged the clutch but i couldn't shift to second. I was able to pull clutch pedal up with my foot and slowly clutch function returned. What would cause this to happen?

Something similar to that happened to my '08 once a long time ago. The dealer ended up replacing both clutch cylinders, the clutch fluid and putting in a new clutch (fluid got on the clutch and pressure plate). Glad it was under warrantee.

As Tuna says, it might be a problem with the clutch hydraulics. I'd check them out first.

It also might be a problem with the clutch itselfd but, again, the first place to look is a problem with the hydraulics, especially the clutch slave. Unfortunately, with a C5, to change the slave is a major task requiring the removal of the entire drive train.

Hey Morespeed69,

Unfortunately, I am unable to diagnose this concern for you but please let me know if you would like me to look into this further for you. I can get in touch with a dealer on your behalf if you would like and see if I can gain any insight! Private message me your VIN and contact information if this seems like a good idea. Let me know!

HI there,

This is a 99, but you said a newer clutch. A few questions please

#1, what modifications are on the vehicle with the engine or driveline????

#2, what type of clutch was installed???

#3, Did you resurface the flywheel or replace it ???

#4, was the concentric slave cylinder and / or the master cylinder replaced???

Allthebest, Paul
