Clutch setup on a '90

My '90 coupe just flipped 88K and I think I need a new clutch. I went to the local drag strip to see what my car would do. When I took off (at around 1500 rpms) my clutch slipped. My clutch also slipped bad during the 1-2 shift and the 2-3 shift.

I decided to go with the aluminum single mass flywheel (which I already have), but have a few questions about the disc/PP setup.

I assume that you use the stock throwout bearing, no matter which clutch you use.

I did a search in the C4 forum and read that you can use an LT1 clutch disc and the stock PP with the aluminum flywheel and have little side effects?

Is this true? Is there anyone out there running this setup?

I am going to replace the slave and master cylinders, is there anything else I should look at while I have the tranny out?

Thanks.
