Where can I buy a clutch stud shaft(screws into engine) for my 1981?
It appears that my stud has broken off in the engine. I looked at Ecklers and they have it listed as discontinued.
What is the best way to extract the remaining threads that are broken off?
Thanks

try corvette central www.corvettecentral.com part #532738 $9.40

if you can get a right angle drill in there to drill out old and use and easy out on it that may work. may try to weld new bolt on the end of what remains in block. that may be real tough to do because of the location. either way, soak it real good for a couple days with penetrating oil. good luck.

Hi JB,

Rare busted the same thing a few years ago. I took it to "The Clutch Shop" here in Modesto, they got the clutch ball stud from our local Chevrolet Dealer ;) all together it came to $85 or so..

I thought about using a punch and tap it out, a bolt welded to the broken stud, and drilling it out as curtis mentioned. But it was a lot less painful to have the Clutch Shop deal with it ;)

Success! Got the stud, crawled under the car (tight squeeze-didn't jack it up) and used a right angle drill to drill it out. Used an extractor and got the broken stud out. Put new one in and "back on the road".
Thanks, just looking for some encouragement.
