First i was getting a code 32 (egr), so I chabged the EGR valve and the EGR switch. Not only am I still getting the code 32, now I am getting the code 33 (Mass air flow). Is my car possesed or do i have a serious problem.. The MAF seems to be fine, I pulled it off and inspected, nothing is damaged inside and yes, the screens are still on. I changed one of the MAF relays, the power one. what do i do????

My memory isn't what it used to be but I'm thinking when I got those codes on my old C-4 , it was the O2 sensor . Cliff

Is there a way that I can check the 02 sensor??

Hate to tell ya this but it sounds like the ECM. All the Troubleshooting flow charts that I have lead to it. Especially since you replaced the EGR components and it's still throwing the code. Can you find a known good ECM and just check it too see if it's the problem? :w

I have the flow chart for the code 33 if you would like. It's too big for this forumn so I need a pvt e-mail.

Code 33 in my book for an 88 says MAF Sensor Circuit. Code 34 is for the MAF sensor. I just had a code 34 and replaced the MAF power relay and the burn off relay. They are on the firewall behind the battery. Worth a try. Since I replace them, the check engine light has not come on. New MAF is over $330 wholesale. Both relays at mechanics price were only $17 for both. Hope it's not the MCM, That's expensive, I replaced mine last year.

I agree, my 88 did the same thing. replaced both relays, under the battery and solved my problem. total parts were less than 20 bucks, got them from auto zone.

Agreed. If you've never replaced the MAF relays I would do that as well. Its good for peace of mind and just may save ya!
