Hello everyone...,

I have an '81 Corvette and I'm trying to get rid of my "engine check" light signal that comes on when engine is warm and at low RPM's. So I decided to pull the codes on the ECM and got a code 21.

Can someone tell me what a code 21 stands for ? What should I be looking at? and I do I resolve this?

Thanks in advance.... :w

Rawj ~ Welcome to the Action Center & L81VetteRegistry Forums ~

Rawj take a look at this Thread it give all the codes for our 1981's.

Code 21 is "Trouble Code for Throttle position sensor circuit"

If you have a GM Shop Manual (ST-364-81) for your 1981 check page 6E1-20 for testing proceedure if you don't have the shop manual I can scan the page and post it for you ;) The tests are electrical in natual and require a volt meter and a dwell meter..

Thank you Bud...,
...and I thought all I had to do was change a sensor. Unfortunatly, I don't have the shop repair manuel (it's on my next wish list). If you could post me the page in question, I would certainly appreciate it.
Thanks again for your help.

Rawj,

I had trouble getting a good scan from my book. The pages are pretty thin, even with a heavier paper as a backdrop it still copies bad. Hopefully you can make it out..

Thanks Bud...,

I was able to "blow-up" the image a bit. Came out just fine.
I really appreciated your help...thanks again.
