I have a green wire and red wire, just want to make sure if it's the red one that goes to the pos side of the coil, and green goe's to the neg. is this correct?

The dist. (black) goes to the - neg. side of the coil and the wire with 2 wires one white (resistance 6.8v) & the other is 12v at start/ crank from the starter solenoid.

got it up and running with the red to the pos and the 2 green wires to the neg.. I get jiuce for just a moment out of the red wire when I first turn the key

The system is like this, The wire from the ign. is a resistance 6.8v and the other wire on the pos. side comes from the starter (start) terminal and provides 12v only during the starting (cranking mode) to the coil and during the run cycle its about 6.8v under load. There must be 2 wires at the pos. terminal.

all I did was swap from an accell coil to a msd, I have and hei ignition.. on the accell there was no markings for pos or neg.. but if I had it wrong wouldn't the car not start?????

The coil should have a neg or pos on it or at least a marking you may want to contact MSD but it may cause the coil to not work the best if wired wrong. Yes it will run but not the best.
