Column Lock Recall Thread

I sure hope they have any parts needed! I will also wait at the dealership while the work is performed!!!

Make sure the dealer has the necessary parts in stock. GM sends out the recall notices way ahead of the actual parts for the dealers....After working for a Chev dealer for 8 years Ive seen a recall and the parts are 3 months down the road necessary to fix.

Wondering if anyone will not go to the dealer to have this fixed.

Heard there might also be a ball joint issue with '04's...anyone else hear of this rumor?

Some will say you should just in case it should lock up on you and smash into a tree like this Z06! Maybe it may be a good idea to do so??????? Should we go 1stiff84?????????? You make the call!!!!!!!!!!

just got the recall for my 2001 Z06 - steering wheel lock problem - funny, had car in for seat rock a few weeks ago and the dealer replaced the driver seat track and as the dealer had the car asked him to check on the steering wheel lock problem and the dealer said my car wasn't part of the recall!!!!!

And I told them to fix it before but they wouldn't until I had the letter.

Now I do. And they will fix it!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I got my recall letter, too. I was going to have the dealership fix it when I took my '97 in for the 40,000 mile service, but I got sidetracked.

I think there are three. Hard to keep track. I know there is one here and one in the Z06 forum. I wish there was a way to combine them. I think there is a third one dancing around here as well.
