1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
Well I spent the weekend in atlantic city at a car auction/swap meet.I had a lot of time to veiw the cars prior to the auction.

I had only seen one low HP car for sale the entire show(not to say there wasn't more But I only seen one)

As I was viewing the big block cars the majority were advertized as HIGH HP car,s

By all means I am NO exspert on corvettes but it was very clear some thing was incorrect.
Of these cars the majority had

Small block fuel lines,

Never had TI,

Aftermarket rear sway bars,

Small block half shaft yokes,

A Late 66 car with hood support on passenger side,And a copy of a NCRS article stating it was correct.I pointed out his build date is way out of the range for it to be O.K. and pointed it out in the article (He thanked me and said he never read the entire article)He just read the highlighted areas that the guy he purchased the car from showed him.

One car even still had the radiator tank still in place.

One car had a stamped motor pad with a screw on oil filter? Is there an adapter to make this happen?

Well I thought I would share this there was so much other things but these were the highlights of what I saw.

I always heard there are more B.B. mid-years now than Chevrolet produced. I guess your proving/showing this to be a true-ism. :)

Well image that more high horse power BB. I went to a show/for sale meeting yesterday and the only vette there was a 65 coupe amazingly enough it was a 300hp but had A/C,PS,PW,AT and telescoping steering. As for the spin on yep there sure is an adapter.. Screw that can crap, screw on a modern filter to take advantage of the filtering abilities. Who can see the canister anyway.. Dave..

I was in AC on Friday. If you were looking for vettes in the corral or on the auction block, it was very disappointing. My first time there.......

Larry - I was at the AC show Friday and Saturday. Has I known you were going, I would have looked for you. Like you I was not impressed with what I saw. Asking Prices were high however they always are at that show. I thought the best deal on the floor was a 63 black convertible with red interior. It was supposed to be an original fuel injected car that had a 65 motor in it. I was not able to look under the hood to see if the fuel injection was there -- however, the asking price was $29,999 which I thought was a good deal if the frame was solid.

And so it continues... SB cars slowly, mysteriously, methodically morphing into BB cars, one by one, covertly, descreetly being slipped into society...absorbing into the general marketplace at inflated prices by unsuspecting first time buyers, replacement titles washing away vehicle histories, 2 lb sledges whacking gang holders against freshly prepped pads in the deepest, darkest recesses of 2 car garage suburbia. :D

Which is exactly why I'm going bigger than 427 now. Hell, everybody's got a 427 now. ;LOL

John sorry I was not smart enough to send you an email but I will contact you in august to meet up at carlilse I ABSOLUTELY WILL BE THERE .

I seen the black car and I thought compaired to the others it went affourdable.I also did not see under the hood.Did you get a good look at the body?

Did you see the converted shark to look like a cadillac? I took a picture of that one.

I would say the best car of the show was the brown big block camaro with a/c and a M22 WOW what a restoration.

And the ford skyliner. That was also just a PERFECTLY restored car.

Did you ever hear the saying 2 fools met at an auction. The guy who bid and the guy who did not take the bid. That came to mind with the 1969 red cobra convertable mustang.I was shocked that it was bid up to $90,000.00 and did not reach its reserve. I LOVE old mustangs but that was a shock.

Also I had notice most of the muscle cars that were modified did not go as well as the completely stock cars.Even knowing some of the completely stock cars still needed work on them.

I lost my shirt in the casinos, got rear ended on the way home in my pick up truck,I did not purchase anything at the show (Nothing I needed) But over all I had a great time and plan on returning again next year.

Larry -- sorry to hear about the rear ending. See you at Carlisle. I will be there Friday and Saturday. I usually work in the NCRS tent one or both days. Prices at the AC auction/show can get a little crazy. I also dont need any parts per se. I am always on the lookout however for dated replacement parts that could fail. There were none at the AC show.
