I have an 84 that has a carburated engine in it. The only part of the digital dash that works is the speedometer. I am wondering how I go about getting all the guages to work? I can't even tell how much gas I have right now! Also, the clutch can be VERY hard to shift into gears sometimes, my mechanic said that at one point the pedal itseft was actually "bent." Its shifter itself is very loud when shifing. Pluss the overdrive doesn't work. Heck, I don't even know if it has an overdive unit. I havent had the car long and I am not that knowledgeable about engine stuff. I just love the car.

Thankx for reading.

Are you sure you have a carburetor on your car? If you take the Air Cleaner off do you see what resembles 2 carburetors? Those cars came with 2 fuel injectors. If it has been converted over to a carburetor they may have forgotten to connect the ground from the cluster which is located near the bell housing/manifold. Without the ground connected the cluster won't work. As far as the shifter and tranny goes. If you have the original tranny it is what is known as a 4+3 (here is a pic...the overdrive is the shinny part on the back of it) [Click Here...I doubt if the pedel was ever bent, it takes allot of force to bent that steel. Without accually seeing the shifter its tough to diagnose your problem. You should get a service manual if you plan on keeping an older car for a while. Manual Link

Would one of the mods move this to the C-4 section?
