Computer Bad ???????????

I can't get my M/C to work. When I run direct power to it from the battery it clicks like crazy, which tells me its activating. I have an old carb and when I hook the plug to it from my M/C solenoid it tries to pull the plunger down, but its not strong enough to make it click down all the way. I have 11.42volts across the plug that goes to the M/C solenoid, but it will not make the solenoid work. There is no switching action, does this mean that the computer is bad. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks.

Try this first.
Key on, engine off.
Jump terminals A and B in the ALDL connector. See if that makes the m/c cycle.
