I can't get my mixing control valve to work. If I use a seperate battery and touch the leads to the M/C I can make it click everytime I hit ground, so I think the valve itself is OK. There is no brakes in the wires from the computer to the M/C, so I think the wires are OK.
Does anyone know of a way to check the computer itself? I really don't want to but a computer if I don't need one. Money is tight now, my plant decided to close and moce to Fuchon, China. I only have 5 weeks left to work. Thanks for any help.

Turn the key on,engine off. Jump the ab terminals on the aldl. The mc solenoid should start cycling. If it does it's not the ecm. The mc won't cycle if your fuel mixture is too rich or lean. Hook up an analog dwell meter to the open green connector under the hood. With the engine running, meter set on six cylinder scale, you should have 30-35 degrees dwell. If it's very low the mixture is too lean. Very high, around 50, the mixture is too rich.
Other items which will affect the mc are bad coolant temp sensor, bad tps, bad MAP sensor or vacuum leak to the Map. The mc works on a very narrow range. 1/2 a turn on the idle mixture screws is enough to shut down the mc.
