Just this past Sunday I drove my 2000 C-5 to a wedding and my wife went with me; on the way home she told me there was water dripping on her feet and some junk she had laying in the floor board (passenger side of course) ;helpnot a lot but it has me concerned :ugh When I got home I checked it out and could not figure out where it was coming from; it was real hot, high 80's maybe even low nineties, humidity real high so I discounted it as condensation from the AC dripping down, didn't appear to be engine coolant? Has anyone out there had this experience ;help and can give me some guidness on what to look at and maybe an idea of what it is. Usually I drive it without a passenger so this could have happened before unbeknown to me. Just feel it is condensation from the AC any idea of what I could look at to prevent or fix this would be greatly appreciated ;shrug

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from any of you that would give me some idea of what this is and where to look first :confused

Bill, there should be a rubber drain hose in the engine compartment near the A/C heater box on the passenger side. Sometimes they get clogged up with leaves and twigs pulled in from above. Check to make sure it is open. Doesn't take too much to clog it.

SAVE THE :w

Thanks lt4man and I will check that out, I assumed or at least hoped that something like this may be the culprit so I will see what I can find. Hope all has been well with you and yours, seems like forever since I've seen you.

Take care and thanks again,
Bill :w

From what I've read, you should be able to reach them w/o removing panels.

I checked mine while doing an oil change and the front end was up in the air. It was a pain in the rear to find/get to.

I just take the lower inner finder panels out,you can look up there and see them easy!! The one for the AC is more to the middle of the car and it's smaller and looks a little different!!:upthumbs

Junk do these set right next to each other; and look just a like? the picture I copied shows that they look a like; maybe one is just a little shorter, which one is which :confused:confused:confused and what does the other do or drain I guess? I assume if I remove the inner fender panel I should or would have to remove the tire is that correct or can it be done without this? Maybe I am confused, I did copy some pictrures but not real sure what I am looking at. ;help If I can get to them without having the car raised and removing this panel at least for now that would be cool. Any other illustrations would be nice if you have them, you da Man!! :upthumbs

Thanks,
Bill :w

You can get the Panels off with out removing the tires!! It needs to be jacked up though,so you can get to the one on the A/C easier!! 8 small screws and 1 push clip each!! The 2 on the drivers side are about the same length, and side by side but in different channels of the cowl!! The 1 on the passenger side is about 12-14 inches long and can be accessed by removing the battery, but I myself would rather remove the wheel house panels because usually there full of leaves and debre too!!!The A/C drain is about striate above the exhaust pipe coming out of the right side of the firewall just a little higher than the starter just under the large wireing harness!!:upthumbs

PS The photo that you copied was when I had the left front fender and inner structure completely off the car!!:D:D:D

Junkie, were you hauled away in cuffs again? :L
No Jim,Once was enough!!!:D:D:D It happened about a month ago,Wife was really Pizzed!! She's just now Cooled down enough I can get it out once in a while!!:L I usually don't buy cars that are damaged other than some mechanic work, minor body damage, scrapes or a few dings!! I was at a GMAC auction and they brought it through on a rollback so I bought it thinking I would repair it for myself and sell my Spiral Grey if I liked it!! Spent $5000. in parts including new tires and worked on it when I had time!!Well I like it too much, except the fixed roof!! I don't need a car like this,it's just Too much Fun!!:D:D:D

AC Condensation vent tube clean out. . . . . . . . . .

Hey Junk, I took the RH side panel loose in the wheel well and could not get my arm in there far enough to find the AC drain tube (udder), did not jack the car up or remove the panel all together so maybe that is the problem. At anyrate what is the trick here I never did find it from feeling around so I guess I will jack the car up and try and remove the panel all together. What is on the LH side; and should I see it once I remove this panel. Kind of appears it might be easier to get to from the top under the battery but does the battery tray have to come out as well? Just couldn't even figure out how to get there; I think I saw part of it ;shrug from the top side but I am not sure about that either, could not see the drain end with the slits in them. Any more tips would be appreicated ;)

Thanks,
Bill :w

Thanks Junk; maybe my arms were too fat to reach through all the way, not much room with the tire there. Thought before I took the fender off I would check and make sure I am in the right area. I thought at least I would be able to see it hanging down ;shrug there somewhere. If memory seves me the AC drain is on the RH side and what was it that was on the LH side?

Thanks, again you are :upthumbs da Man for sure,

AC Condensation vent tube clean out. . . . . . . . . .

Junk I just found the 2 on the drivers side, they set side by side, cleaned them out; one had nothing in it, the other one has some crap, leaves, bugs and etc. in it, cleaned it out; when I found them they were a piece of cake to get to; but for the life of me I can not find, see or get to the one on the passenger side (RH side), I think I see part of it but I sure can't seem to get to it. It appears :confused that if I took the battery out I may be able to access at least the top part of it but even when the battery out it doesn't appear ;shrug that I can reach the bottom where the slit is. Thanks and maybe when you get back with me it will make more sense. Is this the only one for the AC or is there more than one here? I have searched and searched the interenet for furthur instructions on this but I am not sure what I am looking for and the computer is only as smart as the :L lame brain running it esspecially in my case :ugh

Thanks,

Bill :w
