Im a new owner of a 69 convertible. I was told the engine is original to the car but am unsure after checking numbers and reading some info online. I have read different and conflicting info so thought this would be the place to get expert help. The numbers on engine block are a little hard to read but what Im seeing is 3931063 Or that first number could be an S. My Vin is 194679S724675 That is also the number that is stamped into the rear frame of the car. I found another stamp on engine that is GM 3T. I would appriciate any help or input from others. Thank You

3931063 is the casting number of a cylinder head, not an engine VIN derivative. The numbers you're looking for will be stamped (not cast) into a small rectangular surface on the engine block in front of and below the passenger side cylinder head.i

Thanks

Thanks Mike for the info. I will go out and take another look with my glasses on.

Last 6 digits are the same and it is a close match to the Vin. There is another code next to it consisting of letters and numbers. Thanks again
