The way I see it, a couple of people have got this idea that the new ZO6 will be in the 70K range. No real facts to back up the statement, but just a guess.

Now, Dave Hill has said on several occasions "your gonna like the price" !

I'll go with the guy that knows approx. what the price will be. To make the majority happy we'll see a base price in the low 60's, maybe even the high 50's.

It's the Stealer that will want to sell it to you for 70K !!!!

DISCLAIMER: This is just my opinion, I'm not trying to flame anyone.

The ZR-1 was 85K 15 years ago, adjusted for inflation, thats $126,423.76 today. I don't seem to remember hundreds of ZR-1s sitting on dealers' lots unsold. Why wouldn't this beast be upwards of 85K again? With GM / Chevy in as much trouble as they are now, I'd bank on the "powers that be" trying to get as much $$ as possible for the new Z06. Mg and carbon-fiber components don't come cheap. Why not profit more from the people that can afford to pay big bucks. No other car could come close to this thing for less than, what, $175,000 (I have no clue what a new 911 turbo goes for)? My guess: sticker is $80,000-$85,000 with dealer mark-up just north of $90,000 for the first 6 months.

Viper pricing

... is 85 k with gas guzzler tax included. If the Z06 is on par power wise but with the dry sump and better interior, I would think 85 k would not be outragious. Maybe sticker in high 70's.

I've heard DH say this as well. If you guys are right, are you gonna "...like the price"? :nono I guess we'll see in a few weeks.

What price are you referring to Tom? Bob said high 50's, low 60's. You think different?

If the convertable is 64K, how could the z06 be the same or cheaper? There is a bunch of wishful thinking in this thread.

This being said, don't ever pay over sticker guys! If a dealer wants an "Availability Charge", tell them no thanks, and remember that the next time you're shopping for a Tahoe.

I'm still thinking around 68K to start, and a Z with all the bells and whistles in the low to mid 70's. (We need to mark this thread for later review...;) )

I agree that if it's in the 80k+ range it's not a deal for me. :) Pricing will be released soon. These threads will all be rehashed as pricing is revealed. :D

I ran into Dick Guldstrand today at a local Corvette shop, and according to him the seventy+ figure is going to be pretty close to what they'll sell for, not including dealer markups and taxes and licensing of course. ;)

He was very pleased with his experience when he was behind the wheel of one recently.

He also told me that they're definitely going to be limited to the five thousand units, as we've all probably have already heard.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, who was it who said mid sixties to start??:w :_rock

$1,800 for a 6 disc changer?:L

Supposedly it is included in the 2LZ package or something like that, not too sure. Must be a real high end cd player eh?

I'll insert foot in mouth now for my ~$8xK estimate. I can't help but be impressed with all the technology included for relatively little $$$. Is it true that the loaded conv was $64K? Does that really mean that the Z06 is only $1K more than a fully-optioned conv? On a side note, I thought cheap shots were against the rules in this board. OUCH.

A fully optioned C6 vert is ~$62k. Either way, it's only $3k more for the Z06 with all the new tech. Still seems like a deal to me, just out of my price range until I can find a used one. :)

You guys don't know what cold is!:L If I lived in FL, I would consider it convertible weather year round.:L:L:L Then again, I am used to the dreadful Chicago winters.

i live in southern florida and it is convertible weather all year long.............oh, did i mention the 4 hurricanes that hit here in 6 weeks last season?? did i mention that the "rainy season" lasts from approximately 6/1 to 12/1 and the height of the hurricane season is labor day weekend???? by the way..the rainy season usually produces a daily rain storm that can drop approximately 2 inches of rain in about an hour and it is almost a daily afternoon event??????? we've already had one tropical storm this year (last week) and it brought us rain every day last week. at last count it was about 8 inches in 4 days, lol.

what's really unusual is that until they really developed the convertible top technology within the past 15 years or so, making them pretty well insulated, we actually did a reverse removable hardtop trick. the top came off in the winter months (the nicest time of the year by a long shot in my opinion) and was put on to be able to gain a/c efficiency and protect against the torrential rains we have in the summer. sounds like i'm complaining, but you couldn't get me out of the tropics if you offered me just about anything in the world. as far as i'm concerned it is one of the greatest locations to be from!!

to answer a question....

You do not have to pay for the US9 and the 2LZ pkg....US9 is a part of the pkg....US9 & U3U are available as upgrades to the 1LZ pkg.

Also, on-star does not appear to available at all on the Z06
ONE MORE THING - HEADS UP DISPLAY IS STANDARD ON THE CAR!
