I got in tune with the car this past weekend and was able to run out to the raceway and do some 1/8 mile timed passes. I was able to click off (3) 1/8 mile passes in the low 7s. :dance
What does this translate to for a 1/4 mile performance? Mid 11s or 12+ or what? I will try to go next weekend (this weekend is shot due to potentially important storm in the gulf called a hurricane) :L

In any case, let me know --- I will try to scan some pics of my 1/4 mile ETs when I get back over there. Thanks for the info!

MID TO HIGH 14s??????????

I don't think so! Not with this engine & list of mods!
:) - Hell I can run 14s with my wife's protege!

twice as fast to go from 1/8 to 1/4? no way. should be like mid 11s to low 12s I am thinking but that is just a seat of the pants
guess at this point. I hope it is not 14s... that cannot be! :nono

ok her is the break down of one mile
1 mile = (2) .5 miles = (4) .25 or 1/4 miles = (8) 1/8 miles
so take your 1/8 mile multiply by 2 and wala you have a 1/4 mile time I am almost 100% on this if someone else has input let me hear it

ok mr wiZard

I think I know that 1/4 is twice the distance of a 1/8 mile!
hehehe :) I know it says that I am from LA in my message box but the hurricane hasn't hit us yet --- my brain is still intact (for now) :L

I think you are missing the simple physics of rate of acceleration.
You seem to forget that my car is already in motion and is accelerating the entire time from 1/8 to 1/4 so therefore it could not possibly be DOUBLE the time from point A to point B.

:)

In any case, here are the formulas that seem to work - found on the Internet - hope this helps us both out. Thanks for the quick response 84Vette ---

Convert between 1/4 mile and 1/8 mile ET's

1/4 mile ET = 1/8 mile ET x 1.5832 (thanks to Bobby Mosher for this formula)

1/8 mile ET = 1/4 mile ET / 1.5832 (thanks to Bobby Mosher for this formula)

so that would place it in the mid 11s or so!

Is this formula accurate? Thanks for the info and the help.

ahh yes physics i forgot all about it how retarded of me i am going to go hide in my little hole now

Sorry

for getting kinda heated with you, 84Vette. I was just getting upset that my vette was running 14s and I guess I got a little worried! hehe. :)

Thanks for your offer of help and assistance - it is truly appreciated.

I ran a 8.9171 1/8 mi. and 13.7223 1/4 , same pass ofcourse

The formula is ok, but the real thing will always come out with different results..... it depends on your car... that formula seems to assume your rate of accel. is constant, which isn't really valid in the real world of cars, since we have different gears, and engines have variable power-bands... Also keep in mind, 1/4 and 1/8 mile times are not very accurate for giving you HP, or giving you the other time (so if y ou have 1/8th, it isn't very accurate to get 1/4) anyways, you have a fast car, so it doesn't matter too much... post your 1/8th mile MPH if you get a chance... and good luck with the hurricane:(
