I have just purchased a 1995 Convertible. 44K miles and great condition. My probem is when I release the two front top latches and pressed the little yellow button on the left behind the drivers seat to release the top and the "top boot" all I get is a click, but nothing releases. HELP. Any suggestions?

I had a similar problem on my 86. There is a cable with a loop attached to the release cable (one on each side). It turned out to be a manual release for that particular side. Once it releases push the bottom again if the other side didn't release. The rear deck should lift up. I traced the problem to the keeper on the end of the release shaft, it was loose. I replaced it and it has worked just fine ever since. These was a white plastic bushing that had to be put back into position before I could reattach the keeper. All is well so far. Hope this helps. If you email me I can send you a couple of pictures that would hopefully explain this better. Good Luck.
