Coolant temp erratic

I have a 94 and I noticed this morning after the car acted like it was cutting out twice that my digital coolant gauge was fluctuating like crazy and would even read LO which caused the engine to stall for a second. This happened several months back and I replaced the coolant temp sensor. I find it strange that the sensor would have failed again. No SES light. Is there something I shoud be looking for besides the sensor?

Hi there,
I have seen numerous connector problems with the LT1/4 models, just from installing and removing the connector.
GM has this part available, and includes the heat shrink butt connnectors.
I would replace the connector.
