I'm trying to install a new coolant temp switch that will turn my fan on at a lower temp. I have a 1991 and it says that the location should be between cylinders 1 and 3. But it isn't there ? It seems to be located between cylinders 6 and 8 like on the 84 and 85 blocks. How can this be. The car has only 64 k miles on it and doesn't show any signs of an engine swap. Could someone have used a 85 block and 91 externals?

Fan Switch

I also have GMP Switch kit, but on a 1986. According to what I'm seeing you are not looking for a sensor between 1 & 3, but a 3/8" water jacket plug where you install the low-temp sensor. Hope this helps.

Are you looking for the plug in the block or in the head, the plug should be in the head between cyl #1 and #3. It has a square recess, I think it's a 5/16" square recess.
