Coolant!!!

I pulled my resevoir this past weekend. Same problem. The tank was fine, the overflow hose clamp needed to be tightened. Also, the flashing from the mold on the nipple of the tank did not allow for a good seal. I hit it with emery cloth and retightened everything. So far no leak. But, I am having fun with the "valve, heater, water flow" that is in the heater hose between the core and the pump.

Seems there is a check ball inside that plastic valve that got loose and is somewhere in my coolant, hopefully the heater core and not the water pump.

I had the same thing with my 94. It was the water pump. abou $600 to replace by Mr Goodwrench. The car runs much cooler with the new pump and coolant.

Sorry, did you say you had replaced the radiator cap? I seem to go through one every year. :ugh

Yes, that sounds like a fair deal. Was it Murrays?

If the radiator is too cheap, it's probably made in China. I bought one of those from Autozone for my other car and it came apart within 2 weeks, ruining the motor (temp sensor was bad, so no "check engine" lite). Autozone cheerfully gave me a refund, but took a month to have the motor rebuilt.

I had the best luck with NAPA radiators, made in USA, and price as good as the auto stores.

its a MODINE. came with a lifetime warranty or as long as you own the car. seemed pretty good to me.
