I have had my 04 coupe for several months now and it has been trouble free. I have a question I cannot find the answer to in the owner's manual. At what temperatures do the cooling fans come on? If my fans have ever come on I'm not aware of it, as I have never heard them.

I'm still having a had time living with a car that runs 225 degrees at idle at a red light.

Larry, They all run around 210-230 on hot days (like we have as you know), in traffic. There is a replacement relay that can be installed thereby allowing you to adjust when you want the fans to come on. I run around here in Sac town on 100+ days and it will climb to 230 in traffic, fans kick on and it drops to 190-200 in no time. On the freeway on the same day it will run all day at 190 so it's pretty normal to see that temp.
I think the relay runs around $180 plus installation. My feeling is if you see 180-190 on the freeway your fine even if you see 220-230 in traffic. Just make sure the fans do come on at 225-230.
The one thing I've been told is don't run below the 180 because of the cat. converter.

Thanks cruzer82. I added a bottle of Water Wetter and the temp seems to have dropped about 8 degrees in city traffic. I can live with that.
