Copper Metallic c4 rare?

I have a burgandy '86 and when the sun hits it the right way it doesn't look burgandy at all. Instead it looks copper with no hint of red in it. My wife scratched the side mirror once on another car and I could see that under the red paint was a colour that looked like the '94 copper. I guess the metallic is a copper base or whatever. When I looked at the close up pic of the front bumper on this thread, it looked exactly like mine does. Is the colour code in with the rest of the other RPO codes? If so, what letter should be in front of the 66,or 69 code?

Here are a few pics of my 87 with Dark Red Metallic paint. Looks just like yours.

Lighting isn't as good on the rear shot as yours

No,its nothing like that, ive just not seen what another 86 copper looks like to compare the colour against, and the 94 is very different.

the 1994 is a TOTALLY different hue - do not make the mistake of comparing them further.

I would say based upon the pics, your car is one of the four - :m

Colors fade over the years and are difficult to photograph. We KNOW the color existed so why wouldnt it be genuine?
If you have the paperwork for God's sake dont paint it preserve it! Even if there is doubt about paperwork being altered and you need a "second opinion" order a new build sheet with your vin from the Vette Museum!

I'd be interested in the actual color code for the 86 Copper metallic.

There is ONE 1984 painted a COPPER by GM for the color show with proposed colors for 86 called Russet Metallic. I wonder if it is the same Inmont code despite the change of name?
