Corsa Exhaust Installation

I am about to order a Corsa "Pace Car" cat back system. I am not planning on putting their "X" pipe on as there are no other engine mods to the car. I heard the hardest part of the job was getting the car jacked up high enough so you can get the original system off without cutting the pipe. I do not want to cut the pipe. If anyone has done this job, I would appreciate any tips on how high and how they did it. Thanks.

hi, once i got the car high enough i unbolted the brackets that hold the rear sway bar to the body once you remove that the mufflers come out very easily. i think it took longer to get the tools out and jack up the car

Yep! The bottom of the rear fascia needs to be at 33 inches from the ground. I did it a few times.

After you installed, drive the car for a few minutes and re-tight the bolts.

It takes only a 20-30 minutes when the car is jacked. Take your time to scrape the old gasket.

I paid a local shop $70.00 to put mine on.

Did you have increased heat in the center storage well after you installed your Borla system? Mine seems to be very hot but the Borla system doesn't seem to be too close to the storage well after installationn. Maybe it was always that hot in there but I checked it out after I was on a wine tour and put a couple of bottles in the well. On one the cork completely popped out and the other one just pushed the cork out a little.:cry

Anyone else (stock or not) have a "hot box" for the center well?

Actually the Borla was on my friend Z06. He never told me it was hotter, just Louder :L . I have Corsa on my car. I did not noticed more heat. The only time it came very hot in that area, that was du to the tranny on road race...

I installed a Corsa on our '03 in no time. Had a Kwiklift to help me, though. It's quieter at 80 than the stock exhaust (I don't think I'm outrunning the sound). About the wine...........that area was - believe it or not - designed originally to hold a spare tire, before the runflat decision was finalized. There's no insulation between that area and the mufflers, so it will always be warm. I put a tool bag there...but nothing that can expand with the heat that area is exposed to.

OK, I'll just have to quit using that well for storing wine in! By the way, my 12-CD changer (which is in that well) seems to work fine with original discs but I haven't tried using any "burned" copies yet... :naughty:
