Will the Corvette 50th Anniversary Collectables( diecast cars, coins, clocks , etc) be more valuable than the 40Th? and if so why/ what will be more valuable to collect?

Hard to say?
I think a lot of the value is based on how many cars are made.

I think Maitso was the only one that made the 40th.
The 50th is being made by ERTL and Auto Art so there may be a lot more supply to cover the demand.
Right now with the hype they may get top dolloar but in a year ??

So I can't place a vote yes or no.

my $.02

Value...

One of my other hobbies is stamp collecting. Through that hobby, I have learned an item is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. A catalog might say this item is worth this much but someone may only be willing to pay that much for it.

Just remember hobbies are supposed to be fun. Collect what you like and try not to worry about future value.

;stupid I agree on the catalog prices.

I am into NASCAR diecast and Becketts now has a price guide for these cars. I don't know where they get these value !! I have seen cars that I own listed value of say $150 but go on eBay and all they are getting is $75 if their lucky.

I tend to use eBay as my price guide for anything. You see exactly what items sell for in real time.

If your look at this to make money it is a timing game. Like Dale Earnhardt cars. When he died his stuff went thru the roof. Now the new D.E. stuff people buy several of them hopeing to get rich. I find that I can buy these cars for less on eBay than what I can get them wholesale.

You never know.

Just collect what you like because you like it.

nascar

To Corvette Pilot, read your info on the value of nascar die cast,
I have a set of Davey Allison ,3 cars, transport an photo collectors edition item #01754rc. It is a texaco and 7 up #28. set. Can you tell me where I might look to see if it has any value? thanks

I know there is the Beckett NASCAR collector guide. You can find it in Barnes & Nobel and read it there. I think their prices are generally higher than what you will get for it.

When I want to find a true value of something (anything) I look it up on ebay. This way you can see what people are REALLY paying for stuff.

Other than that just do some searches on Google for collector guide sites.

Good luck
