I just finished watching a live interview on the Washington, DC News Channel 4 with Andy Pilgrim and Ron Fellows over in LeMans. They did a fantastic job answering questions about Corvette, Corvette racing and the history of LeMans. The film footage showing the new red, white and blue C5-R running the track was awesome.

This year's race will be very important in that the Ferrari 550 Maranello has become an increasing threat to the C5-Rs. If the Team can beat the competition, this year will be the third consecutive year they've won at LeMans and a perfect way to kick off the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Corvette!

On behalf of everyone here at the Corvette Action Center, I'd like to wish them the best of luck this weekend. Kick some butt and take names!!

If any of you guys get a chance, check out the August issue of Corvette Fever. On page 19, there is an article by Ron Fellows about the race team. He seems very committed to the success of the C5-R's. He also stated that during the '02 Sebring event, they did quite well against the Maranellos until a driveline failure took them out. Let's see how things work out during this weeks race. I won't be able to watch as much as I would like to but I will get as much viewing time in as I can.

Just as the Corvette raised some eyebrows back in 1985 when they raced for 24 hours in Riverside and caused Porsche and Nissan to take notice. Now the new generation of Corvette Racing teams are once again proving the Heartbeat of America is alive and well......in the shape of a CORVETTE.
