about 18 years ago i met a distinguished, vivacious blond woman.

she was beating the living guts out of the drink machine at the national corvette museum. I knew i was going to like her.

We would run into each other at the ncm in the years to come, became friendly and she selected my ‘53/’03 white vette as her “celebrity pick” during the 50th anniv celebration. Bill buck had already selected my car and put the “sticker” on the windshield. Along she came and promptly explained to the museum and mr. Buck that she was also going to pick the car. “it’s the one i like”, she explained. And that was that.

This wonderful, professional, business woman was dolly cole. Dolly served on the ncm board of directors and put her heart into the ncm. I remember how eloquently she spoke of her husband ed cole (former president of gm) at his ncm hall of fame induction. She lost him years before and even though most of us had never met him, her words made it seem like we had known him all our lives.

Anyone who met dolly was clearly in for a treat.

We lost dolly august 24th 2014. The corvette community lost a lot!

Rest in peace, Dollie... I hope you and Ed are burning rubber on the Eternal Racetrack together...
