Has anyone else received their first issue of Auto Enthusiast? Apparently it's taking over for Corvette Enthusiast, as well as Ford, Mopar and others. It's all wrapped up into one magazine. I just got mine, I do not like it and I will not be subscribing to it. :mad OK, I'm done. Check it out for yorself: Amos Auto Enthusiast

The new kid in town !. . . Auto enthusiast .

My wife had to have an operation and while I was at the hospital, and while I was waiting to hear how things were going I read this first isssue. And this is my opinion, which ain't worth much but I did do a frame-on restoration on my 1979 L-48 and took home a NCRS second flight award after seven years of work.

IF, you restoring a older Corvette like a 196X to a 1982 this magazine might be of good service to you as they have every vendor of anything from Bumper to Insurance in there. So on that level I could see some use. But they have the magazine cut up so it covers Ford Mustands, Classic Chevy's, 1965 and on Pontiacs, some Cadillacs and finally Most Mopars vehicles. The odd thing was that the 'Corvette & Chevy section' starts on page 51 to 99 and then it's Mopars. But the thing is not easy to read as they have some many vendor advertisements I'm not sure of the content springled all through the section.

Also on page 32 is a story about a C6 Corvette modded to kingdom come, which is odd because it's in front of the Mustang section, which is in front of the Chevy& Corvette section. I have to wonder if this wasn't done on purpose to get you hooked on and GM story and then throw you a curve ball with the mustangs and then back to the Chevy& Corvette section. They have an interview with Vic Edelbrock about the supercharger systems they've developed. Which is again odd as they start out the interview by saying Edelbrock's late entry to the whole supercharging market stateing that Eaton Corp's TVS systems are already on the market, I think. I'm not sure as the interview is choppy and you have to read closely to find out what Mr. Edelbrock's saying.

I don't know but it's so much like 'Hemmings Magazine/Catalog' it is the word I'm looking for is "BUSY" It's like feeding time at the zoo. A lot of action and it's hard to keep an eye on the major players. But hay, I think it's great if you want a catalog. I don't know, but that's my opinion and for what's it's worth. Maybe a lot of you will find exactly what your looking for in replacement body, Engine and interior parts? :w

CE Dead !

WOW ! So that's what this thing that showed up in the mail the other day is. I am NOT happy if it is, in fact, true. I jus trenewed my subscription to Corvette Enthusiast not too long ago. And now I get this thing ?? I just skimmed through it and thought "I'm not interested in this at all, but it was nice of them to send me an issue for free".

First "VETTE" and "CORVETTE FEVER" merge, which is OK, I guess, but t his "AUTO ENTHUSIAST" replacing "CORVETTE ENTHUSIAST" is just plain wrong !!

I want my money back !

:mad I got it, I paged through it, I threw it in the garbage... to say that I am NOT happy would be a bit of understatement. This is NOT the magazine I paid to recieve!!

They can keep it!!!:mad

I was especially impressed with the fact that the publishers never notified the subscribers of their intentions, and that they just kept our money for a product we did not pay for. All subscribers should have been notified of the magazines intentions, and then given a choice of a refund or continuing to subscribe. In my opinion, every subscriber that is not happy with the new format should demand a refund for their remainig subscriptions.

I agree with you all guys. I received my copy the other day and was immediately disappointed. :ugh I skimmed through it and thought wow, what a bummer. Not what I paid for, not what I want. I'll let the subscription expire and forget about this publication. Fortunately, I still have Corvette Magazine to fall back on.:D

I called to cancel and they said I could do so but there are no refunds! I took my name off of the renewal list and will be contacting my credit card company to see if they can help.

That's what I ended up doing. Since I renewed mine fairly recently, late September, I was able to get a credit back on my credit card. I asked the credit card rep what would happen if the magazine fought it, she sais as far as they're concerned, it's a closed case. We'll see. I had it happen once before where I disputed a charge and got a credit, but the merchant fought it and I lost. So that credit became a charge again. But that was for much more than a magazine subscription.

That should be the way it works. I have had minor issues before and they don't hesitate to credit me. One time, for a 9.00 charge, they said they wouldn't even contact the vendor.
