It's the "Smoke" corvette from the Speed channel and Tony helped sponsor the car. The car is named "Smoke". It has twin turbo's in the tail and it was tested at the Nashville Speedway.
On the TV show, they were getting 30mpg at 60mph. They also stated that it made over 600hp with the twin turbo's. They said that it should run neck-en-neck with the new ZR1 for much less cost. The turbo's were installed in the tail, where the mufflers were.
I have seen several advertisements for those turbo system that are located in the rear of the car and wonder about the "Turbo lag" issue. I've had several turbo cars, none Vettes, and there can be a significant Turbo lag depending on how far the turbo is located from the induction system.
I wonder how they minimize this problem or are they just not addressing it and you're exected to live with the issue as a trade off for the additional HP.
I mean do you put your foot down and then count one potato, two potato three potato, four... and then the boost comes on?? The reverse when you take your foot off the throttle.
