My 80 has been sitting for almost a year without spark. Last week I finally dropped off the distributor to get a pickup coil Installed. I actually figured that out myself. (Unbelieveable) I decided this morning to go get a battery, pop the distributor back in, hook everything up and see what happens (Had the fire extinguisher there too) I set the distributor as close as I thought it was when she came out. The engine turned over about 5 times and she started. I moved the distributor (Timing) around till she stopped backfiring when I would gun it. Runs like a clock! Going out right now to mark the timing marks and put a gun on it. Been Cleaning it all day.....

:upthumbs ....

Hope to see you on the turnpike. I'm just North of you in the Lehigh Valley. I hope you did change the oil.

It sat for a year and that's all that was needed??? Nice... Too bad ya didn't do it 11 months ago :D

Along with that oil change, don't forget to get some fresh gas ASAP and get some liberal shots of Carb & Choke cleaner into your Qjet... All that old fuel has started to turn to varnish.
