Video: Corvette Museum Gets Nearly $200,000 From Funding

There's going to be a brand new feature at Bowling Green's National Corvette Museum, courtesy of the state of Kentucky.

On Aug. 29, Governor Ernie Fletcher presented museum officials with a check for $198,000 dollars from federal transportation funds.

The money will build a driving simulator theater.

The simulator will provide interactive training to teach students how to "drive defensively."

"One could be a pedestrian stepping out in front of them and helping them understand better how to react and what to do, and how to anticipate. One will be driving under the influence and being able to know the impact that that has on it," said Wendell Strode, Executive Director for the Corvette Museum.

Strode says the simulator should be up and running in the summer of 2008.

No matter how I try to phrase this, it just doesn't sound right, but...

So how does this relate to Corvette History and a Corvette Museum? ;shrug

Perhaps the Museum administration thinks that they can build the simulator with substantial savings...they could perhaps plan to save $80K dollars by sub-contracting the project...;shrug

OR

The simulator will use simulated Corvette performance...:L
