CORVETTE RACING AT CTMP: Almost Like Home
Chevrolet Grand Prix is second race in Canada for No. 3 C8.R

DETROIT (July 5, 2023) – In its 25-year history, Corvette Racing has taken
victories at 27 racetracks around the world. Very few have witnessed more
Corvette successes than Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, which plays host this
weekend to the Chevrolet Grand Prix for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar
Championship.

Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor will team in the No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM
Chevrolet Corvette C8.R – the mid-engine racecar’s second race at the
venerable Canadian circuit. After a second-place finish in the GT Daytona
(GTD) PRO class a year ago, Garcia and Taylor, plus the entire Corvette
Racing effort, will look to finish one step higher on the class podium this
time around.

The program first raced at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park – formerly Mosport
International Raceway – in 2000. Since then, Corvette Racing has won at the
2.459-mile, 10-turn circuit 11 times… more than any other track except
Sebring International Raceway.

Both drivers have victories to their credit at CTMP in Corvette racecars.
Garcia won the GT Le Mans (GTLM) category in 2014, driving a Corvette C7.R
with Jan Magnussen. Taylor was victorious the following year in a Corvette
Daytona Prototype for Wayne Taylor Racing.

Garcia also is a former pole-winner at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (2016)
and set the fastest GTLM race lap in 2015.

The No. 3 Corvette drivers, the team and manufacturer Chevrolet enter CTMP
third in their respective GTD PRO points standings. Only 73 points separate
second through fourth with a maximum of 385 points available this weekend.
Lexus and its No. 14 drivers and teams lead the class by 172 points after
five races and with six events left in the season.

In addition to the extensive success and following at CTMP, Corvette Racing
legend Ron Fellows is part-owner of the circuit and is largely responsible
for operations at the facility. In his Corvette Racing driving career –
spanning 1999-2008 – Fellows won 30 races (three times at CTMP) and three
championships in the American Le Mans Series. He also was one of the
founding members of the team and a key development driver starting in 1997.

The Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is scheduled for
12:05 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 9. The race will air live on NBC and stream
live on Peacock inside the United States and IMSA.com outside the U.S. IMSA
Radio will air on-track sessions beginning with Saturday morning’s practice
at IMSA.com with the race call also on XM 207 and SiriusXM Online 992.

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “Last year
was nice to get back to Canada and finally race the C8.R there. Our result
was good. Last year, we finished second behind the Porsche and the Lexus was
behind us. So I don’t know where we will fit in once we get on the track.
Hopefully we can find our way to the front for all our fans there. It’s
always a really big turnout for Corvette Racing. I was happy with our race
at Watkins Glen, with our pit stops, how clean we were and always gaining
positions with strategy. We’ll hopefully carry on doing that.”

JORDAN TAYLOR, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C8.R: “It was cool
driving the C8.R around Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the first time
last year. We were actually not bad last year there. We saved a lot of fuel
and were in the top-three, sitting behind the Porsche and Aston Martin.
Looking at the pace at Watkins Glen, it’s a little concerning because the
tracks are kind of similar. But since last year, we’ve done some development
so hopefully that can work to our advantage. It’s another sprint race, so we’ll
take a couple of pit stops with some strategy and hopefully work some
Corvette Racing magic.”

CORVETTE RACING AT CTMP & MONZA: By the Numbers
• 1: As in one team, one manufacturer and one model of car for 25 years of
racing: Corvette Racing, Chevrolet and the Chevrolet Corvette
• 3: Generations of Corvette Racing entries at CTMP since 2000 – Corvette
C5-R (2004), Corvette C6.R (2005-13) and Corvette C7.R (2016-2019). The
Corvette C8.R raced at the track for the first time last season.
• 3: Number of GTE Am wins in four FIA WEC races this season for Nicky
Catsburg, Ben Keating and Nico Varrone with the No. 33 Corvette C8.R.
• 6: Hours difference between the IMSA team competing at Canadian Tire
Motorsport Park and the Corvette Racing WEC team competing at Monza on the
same days.
• 7: Number of drivers who have won races at CTMP for Corvette Racing.
Johnny O’Connell (six), Jan Magnussen (five), Oliver Gavin (four), Ron
Fellows (three) and Olivier Beretta (two) each have multiple wins there with
the team.
• 7: Pole positions for Corvette Racing drivers at CTMP. Oliver Gavin leads
with three with Antonio Garcia (2016) being the most recent.
• 11: Class victories at Corvette Racing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park –
all since 2001.
• 14: Manufacturer Championships for Chevrolet and Corvette Racing since
2001
• 27: Tracks at which Corvette Racing has won races – Baltimore, Charlotte
Motor Speedway, COTA, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park/Mosport, Daytona,
Detroit, Houston, Laguna Seca, Le Mans, Lime Rock, Long Beach, Miami,
Mid-Ohio, Monza, Portimão, Portland, Road America, Road Atlanta, Sebring,
Sonoma, St. Petersburg, Texas, Trois Rivieres, Utah, VIR, Washington DC and
Watkins Glen
• 34: Number of drivers for Corvette Racing since 1999. Ben Keating and Nico
Varrone joined that list with their participation – and victory – in the
1,000 Miles of Sebring for the World Endurance Championship.
• 125: Victories worldwide for Corvette Racing – 113 in North America, nine
at Le Mans – including two weeks ago – and three in the FIA WEC.
• 275: Event starts by Corvette Racing since 1999.
• 11,080.25: Number of racing miles completed by Corvette Racing in its 20
previous trips to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. That represents 4,506 laps.
• 358,144.93: Total number of racing miles completed by Corvette Racing
since its inception. To put that in perspective, Corvette Racing is more
than halfway to the distance traveled by Apollo 13 – the longest manned
spaceflight in history: 622,268 miles. That means Corvette Racing has raced
to the moon… and then some!
