Did anyone watch this tonight on the Discovery channel, it just got over. I don't know about anyone else but I had goosebumps the whole show. All I can say to whoever has one is that I hate you :L just playin. What a truely amazing car.

Yup. I watched it. I think I may have left a puddle of drool back in front of the TV.

I have just three words:

"I WANT ONE"

Now I just need to find someone that will let me borrow one. :D

My father watched the show with me; one of the biggest critics I've ever met when it comes to the Corvette. His idea of the ultimate sports car is a Lotus Europa. :(

He believes that any Corvette past a '63-'67, is poor design....etc....etc. I tried to explain to him that the MidYear Corvettes are beautiful in design, but have a nasty tendency to lift and "float" when they start to reach 100 mph. That didn't wash with him. :L

Well, after watching the show, I actually heard him say...."hmmm, it's not bad. I still don't know why they can't build a Corvette that looks like a Lamborghini or a Ferrari, and make it mid-engined, but...ok, it's nice."

Now if I can just get his butt behind the wheel of a C6, I have a feeling, I may have another successful "convert" on my hands. :L ;)

Yea, I knew I shouldn't have sat in one at the cruisefest. The first words that came out of my mouth when I got out was......I don't like mine anymore haha. I don't see me ever getting rid of my first car especially since it is a Corvette. Hopefully someone around my neighborhood will get one so I can see it on occasion.

Now you know how I felt when I sat in the Precision Red one that showed up that Friday night at our CruiseFest back in May. I didn't want to take my hands off the wheel. :D

I know what you mean about not wanting to get rid of your first one. I won't get rid of mine. I've had the car now for 10 years. (man, time has flown by...), and even though she's a 1990, I bought her with just 179 miles on the odometer. I now have just over 28,000 miles. I've had some incredible times with the car....my 145 mph cruise up to the White Mountains in NH....cruising to the Legend Lives event at the Bowling Green Assembly plant to see the last ZR-1 come off the assembly line back in April of 1995 - running through the rolling hills and horse farms of Kentucky near the plant....running side by side at 100 mph with a Ferrari 360 Modena last year....the list goes on.

Too many memories....she's in my blood for good. I don't plan on ever selling my Vette, but I have no problem acquiring a stablemate (AKA C6). :D

Yes Dwayne. I now blame my C6 addiction all on you. :L It's all your fault. :L

I saw the show, too. The sight of that speedometer needle at 180MPH inspired jealousy. I have had mine to 160MPH for about 15 seconds. I would love to have a place where I could drive that fast for 20-30 minutes!

You've done better than I have. 145mph is the fastest I've gone with mine and that was for a good minute or so on the way up to the White Mountains of NH several years ago. I actually averaged 100 mph until some guy in a brand new Mercedes (window sticker in-tact) tried passing me in the right hand lane at about 120. A quick downshift, and he quickly fell behind. What amazed me is that at 145 mph the car felt just as comfortable and just as stable as it does at 80 mph. Truly amazing. I'd love to see how 14-15 years of development, refinement and engineering feel at that speed in a C6. :D

However, for those of you who enjoy driving at those speeds, be very alert and aware of your surroundings. Even though there may be no cars near you or in sight, always remember that when driving through the state of NH, it s not uncommon for a curious deer or a Moose to leave the shelter of the woods and walk out into the middle of the highway. I've seen what a moose can do to the front-end of a C4, and the C4 was only moving at approximately 30-40mph on a backroad (no, it wasn't mine). I can't even imagine what it could do to the car or you at 100+mph.

I watched it tonight, too.

Although when I saw spy photos (what was that guy's name again?) of the C6, I was underwhelmed, now that the wrapping has come off, the more I see of it in pictures, in television shows and commercials, on webcasts, the more I find myself eager to see one in the flesh. Heck, more than that- I want to take one out for a spin!

There were a lot of things about the C6 I was surprised to learn- the way Dave Hill draw a lot of inspiration from the C2, for instance.

Excellent show. I may just have to watch it again at 9.

Maybe it's your destiny . . .

You know that once a person has The Fever they can't get rid of it. :D Heck I think a C6 would look Great on U !

BTW - Try and make it over before I finish my current project and move on to my next assignment sometime early next year.

Actually, I'm thinking of going to Bowling Green sometime in October. I'm planning on meeting with Roc Linkov and Wendell Strode at the NCM and I'd like to meet up with you at the plant if possible.

As soon as I get my self settled down here in NH and finish my move, I'll have a better idea what the dates are that I'll be down there.

yea, watched it again. Coral was up and a distraction when it was on earlier.

Yes I watched it again. I just can't get enough of the C6. I say to myself boy I wish I had one, then I just think back a few years ago, and I had the same feelings about my C4 that I presently own now, I am not greedy, but I am sure most of you will agree with me, you can't have to much of a good thing.
