Corvettes at Carlisle Launches August 25, 2016
The Best Just got Even Better at Carlisle
For Immediate Release
May 2016
CARLISLE, PA – Corvettes at Carlisle has entertained millions since its inception in 1982. People come because the event is so popular among not only Corvette lovers, but casual attendees who enjoy walking the grounds to see America’s favorite sports car! In fact, Corvettes at Carlisle is so over the top popular that for 2016, it’s been officially extended to four days. This year’s weekend takes place August 25-28 and once again, every era of Corvette will be showcased in front of tens of thousands of showgoers.
Why do people from around the world flock to Corvettes at Carlisle each summer? Simply put, the weekend has something unique at every turn. There’s autocross hosted by the Cumberland Valley Corvette Club, special indoor displays, a downtown parade and street party, a judged and non-judged Fun Field filled with upwards of 5,000 Corvettes and really, more activities and happenings than can be referenced in this release.
Corvettes at Carlisle was founded by Chip Miller and though he’s passed, Carlisle Events honors him each year with a display called Chip’s Choice. This year, the spotlight shines on Greenwood and Guldstrand Corvettes. Another hot spot destination includes THE best of the best Corvettes, the NCRS Gallery and a massive tent will also host some of the coolest 1966 Corvettes ever built.
As the event evolves, so has the way cars can be shown; there’s something for every Corvette lover. The National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC) returns with its judged Fun Field, where they offer Seven Sanctions to those who participate. If the NCCC isn’t the preferred way to show, the general Fun Field will accommodate too, offering the chance cruise in, park and relax for four fun-filled days or register and reserve your show spot in the new reserved Fun Field. Either way, early registration assures inclusion and if done up to one month prior to the weekend, also offers a 10% discount.
There’s more to the show than just Corvettes on the Fun Field. The level of camaraderie associated with the weekend is unmatched. Through not only the love of Chip Miller, but the Corvette too, Corvettes at Carlisle offers special VIP packages (Chip’s Circle or Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation Dinner) that sees proceeds directly benefit the foundation. Space for both are limited and will sell out.
Finally, Corvettes at Carlisle would not be what it is without its massive swap meet and vendor base. Between the vendors selling new and after market pieces and parts within the swap meet and the Manufactures Midway, anyone looking to make improvements to their Corvette can do so with ease and as part of a big selection of inventory. Further, the midway also includes vendors doing onsite installs, meaning that the guest can simply hand over the keys and enjoy their time at the show while the pros get the job done.
Ultimately, this is all available to everyone right now. Showing a car or buying a ticket, it’s an affordable family friendly weekend that only happens once a year. Learn more at www.CarlisleEvents.com.
