Coupe Rear Window Drain Kit

This looks like a section of garden hose. Eliminate leaking or splashing water that collects in rear window area.Supposedly this is installed in little as 15 minutes, drilling is required, installed under the rear hatch weather strip. Has anyone actually installed this and if so was it worth the trouble.

When I had my 93 I put these in. I don't think it was worth it.

I installed it on my 1987 vette. I sort of hated it. It didn't fit in right, I guess I didn't drill the hole just right. So it sat raised up, and most of the water ran around it and into the fender rather than down the hose. The putty it came with didn't work well. I'm sure the thing could be made to work, but I found it pretty pointless. Plus it only drained the water slightly lower than stock, not completely. It would still splash out when I drove the car after a wash, or closed the hatch, etc.

Can't see why I should try it... I do want to try the "better" drain kit for the fuel bay/lid area. Anyone tried that?

I've got both drain kits on mine. They work fine and were a definite improvement.

I bought the drain kit for the hatch and also for the hood.

I am going to install them this spring.

and so I hear I have to be carefull in installing the hatch kit properly.

While I have read of several who did this I never liked the idea of drilling holes in the fiberglass. Be a good way to start a crack to form.:ugh
When I wash mine I dry it with a garden blower it is like a leaf blower only smaller and lighter much easier to handle.
The blower blows the water out so I have no need to start drilling holes in the body.

I agree, Bart. My gas area has a drain but its always getting clogged up with leaves or dirt anyway. I like the leaf blower too....and the car in the garage !

I just use a 20cc syringe, works great!!

just use a sponge to soak the rest of the water out,thats what I do takes seconds
