I know these pics get tiresome but what the heck. It was only my third drive of the summer as the weather has been miserable. This show was at a local independent fuel oil/gasoline supplier who has a strong community bent and loves to give back. Very good turnout with some very nice classic cars. His pumps were basically shut down for ~four hours so he took a hit. But I have to admire local entrepreneurs who take that kind of economic hit to contribute to the intererests and enthusiam of local classic car people.

So here is my car (Gertrude, a prim and proper 327/300 with Powerglide) in her new Sherwin-Williams green dress. Mild-mannered but she does get a lot of respect.

The licence plates are year-of-manufacture. The year 1967 was Canada's 100th anniversary and for those who are a little long in the tooth like me the World's Fair (Expo '67) was held in Montreal that year. That eventually spawned the Montreal Expos professional baseball team, now gone to Washington I believe.

Me personally never get tired of seeing pictures,If I wasnt so lazy I would take more from the car cruise I have been to so far (all of 1 this season)

thanks for sharing and in case I have not said it in the past I absolutely love the looks of your car with those wheels.

Thanks! The car beside is the beige 1979 L-82 that I spent many years restoring. It still is a pretty car.

Nice looking car and I never get tired of looking at car pictures. Thanks:)

Great looking "Canadian" Corvette....:beer ........Yes my Montreal Expos went down to Washington :cry ......this saga started when we had a chance to go all the way but the season was halted due to a strike('94) I believe. The next year we couldn't pay our stars and it was a big snowball effect since then.
I still have great memories....recent ones too.....The Boston Red-Sox came to town a few years back and the stadium was full (ok almost full) of Boston fans who came up for the series(my brother-in-law included). It was great,in fact, so great I forgot who won :L .

At one time a Expos baseball game in the big "O" was one big party and a lot of fun. I stopped going about 10 years ago when the fun factor mysteriously disappeared.

damn Paul, I thought you were going to stop posting pics of your car as when I see them they always make me drool on my keyboard!
:)

as always, you car is looking great!

Paul
who knows......... I'm hoping it is but i've given up trying to figure out when she will be finished and just plan on seeing her home again only when I see her actually in my garage.

Looking good Paul! Noboby ever gets tired of seeing these pics so keep them coming OK! :upthumbs . Bet you're getting a lot of great compliments on her and it's no wonder, she shows really nice.

Thanks everyone. I've already received the "It's not a real 427 car" comment because of the hood. I was ready and waiting for those words although there are no numbers on the hood to indicate false bravado. There's one in every crowd who despite your best efforts at keeping these cars on the road, simply cannot resist putting a car down.

But by-and-large people seem fascinated by the mid-years. The colour intrigues as well although Goodwood Green was the most popular tint in 1967. I suspect that many ended up red.

No, I have never seen that car in this area. There were two other C2s, both red convertibles (1964 and 1966).

The wheels are American Racing (AR) Torq Thrust IIs (model CL205) custom made to approximate 1967 ralley wheel specs (15 x 6"). The backspacing is 3 3/8". The spokes are "banana" shaped to clear the calipers. They come with grey powder-coated spokes. I chose to redo with black caliper paint to match the rocker covers and now, of course, the BB hood stinger. The spinners are AR's Carlisle model product.

The tires are Pirelli P4000 Super Touring as recommended by Duke Williams (SWCDuke) in his article in the Spring 2003 issue of NCRS's "The Corvette Restorer." The size is 215-70ZR/15. No speedo re-calibration was needed as they emulate the rolling diameter of the original 7.75-15s.

You can see the "banana" spoke curvature in this pic.

Hi Paul, your car looks great, however I'm getting jealous when I see it! When Barry gets his car back I don't think I will be able to come here anymore.

Just kidding.

Paul, I have a question about the camera you are using as I don't have a digital camera and I'm thinking about getting one. What are you using and are you happy with it? Would you change anything if you were purchasing again?

hi 67
don't worry, when my car is done the paint will look really nice, but Pauls car will still blow mine away if you compare our engine compartment and interiors. Mine is in very nice condition but Paul's is just spectacular

The camera is a Sony Cyber-Shot DCS-P92. It is a 5.0 mega-pixel unit but quite frankly I shoot about 1.2 mega-pixel to get a reasonable definition. The rest is just over-kill. In fact I use JASC PaintShop Pro to reduce the pics even further to fit on the Forum page so people will not be inconvenienced by the screen spread on a typical 17" monitor. I then re-sharpen from lost resolution from the reduction.

To demonstrate, and if Bob will allow, here is the original of one of the 1.2 pics from Sunday. I reduced this one as you can see. If I went to 5 mega-pexils it would just be ridiculous.
