Hi guys! Got a few more "easy" questions...

1) My headlights are kind of "jerky" when they go up. I was going to try to lube them up... or is this a sign of the motor dying on me?

2) My antennae does not receed fully into the car... It sticks out about 1 or 2 inches. I lubed it up with WD-40 today and while it goes down smoother, I can't get this part to go all the way in. Is this normal? I thought the C4 antennae retracted fully...

3) To anyone in the chicagoland area... I think I have some valve slap or something... I can hear a rhythmic "ticking" type of noise from under my passenger side valve cover. Anyone recommend a good shop?

Thanks guys!

The only place i take my car to is D&M Corvette in Downers Grove. I can sleep easy at night knowing its there. In fact, i have an appointment thursday to get some stuff done. Great people. Great shop.

Hey Craig.

1. It sounds like the gears in the headlight motors are worn down. They are prone to do that over time. You may want to look into replacing them with the 88-96 upgrade kit available through any of the mainstream Vette-parts distributors (Mid America, Ecklers, Corvette Central, etc..). or you can just get replacement gears for yours if price is an issue. Around $90.00 for the set. (per headlight assembly).

2. Mine is shot as well. It won't even come up any more. (Insert joke here. :D ) You can take the same route with the antenna. Simply replace the mast ($25 bucks or so) or put in a new motor/antenna assembly.

3. Although every summer I make it up your way, Grand Haven, MI (right across the pond), I don't know of any shops in your area.

Keep on Truckin'. Oops I mean Vettin'. :w
