Courtesy and Alarm Electrical Problems

Has anyone fully disconnected the factory alarm system in there 78 - 80? I've got shorts throughout the courtesy lighting and warning system that I can't isolate. A lot of wiring for alarm sensors etc have been partially cut out and sensors and switches have been removed but it appears that the alarm circuits have been left open. I believe the circuitry for all these items are integrated together. I'm looking for suggestions to remove or bypass the entire alarm circuit so I can get my courtesy lights and buzzers back on line and eliminate a drain or ground short to my battery.
