Sometimes, not always, when coming to a stop with mderate braking, I hear a "cracking" or "snapping" sound coming from the back of my car. Then when starting off again, with moderate acceleration, I hear it again. It doesn't happen when breaking lightly and accelating lightly.

Has anyone experienced this also? Any ideas as to what this could be?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes!! It was a Loose eccentric bolt it the left rear lower control arm!!:upthumbs

Depending on exactly where it is coming from it could also be a half-shaft going bad. That sound usually comes from the side that is going bad.

Hi there,
It could be rust buildup on the splines of the rear axle shaft.

Paul-
You have told me before, but tell me again. How do I check for that and fix it? We never got around to doing it in BG.

Thanks everyone,

c4c5specialist, How do I check for this? Is this something I can fix myself or is it a dealer visit? I am an novice backyard mechanic.

Thanks again,
Dave
