On my way into work this morning, I noticed that my cruise control does not function. I pulled (what I think is the appropriate) fuse when I arrrived at work, but that seems OK. There are no codes set.

It's a 2001, 6-speed with 65k miles on it.

Any ideas?

Craig,
It has been my observation in every GM vehicle I've ever owned or driven where there was an issue with the cruise control that invariably it was a short where two wires which shouldn't have been touching one another had come into contact. I don't know if that's the case here, but I'd at least recommend starting with making it a point to rule that out as the cause.

Also, if you don't hear a response from him in this thread, you might contact C4C5Specialist to see if he has a recommendation, too.

Good luck, and let us know what you find out!

Hi there,
I would really recommend checking your brake switch, located under the dash.
This comes out of adjustment, your cruise will NOT function.
For every 300 brake switches I have adjusted, I have 1 cruise switch.

Thanks for the ideas. I did look at the brake switch before leaving, and it was not touching the pedal lever, so seemed OK. Miraculously, the cruise control worked on the way home - perhaps pulling the fuse and cleaning the contacts may have done it?

Cruise Control Out

On my 99 Vette I had the tail light go out and so did the cruise control, there is a fuse that controls the flashers, that is the one to replace. The cruise control fuse is not the one, it will show normal. Check the flasher one. Doc
