here is a update on the cruise control problem. 97 c5
(again it seems to work intermittently if at all)

today it worked and when i went over a regular/ decent bump in the road it disengaged its self. this is what i was looking for, i needed some symtoms on this problem to diagnose it and this one luckily popped up.

what can i do? what do you think it is?

c4c5specialist you suggested to first adjust my brake switch.
can you breifley or more specifically tell me what im looking for and how should the adjustment be set on it? with the new info now provided do you have any new ideas?

thanks in advance for everyones help on this matter i appreciate it greatly cause my darn foot is gettin tired! :)

Hi there,
The first thing you will need to do, is to remove the panel under your dash, to see the 2 switches.
Then, perform the following adjustment procedure.
With the brake pedal depressed, insert the stoplamp/cruise control switch into the retainer until the switch body seats in the retainer.
Note that CLICKS can be heard as the threaded portion of the switch is pushed through the retainer.
Slowly pull the brake pedal fully rearward against the stop until the CLICK sound can no longer be heard. The switch will be moved in the retainer providing proper adjustment.

Let us know how you make out, c4c5:hb

thanks for the instructions! i will let you know how it turns out!
