I have a 95 lt1.... my cruise control does'nt work. when I turn it on I can hear it click at the servo, so power is going there, I've checked the vac. lines, everything seems ok....... please help.? thanks rob

I just fixed mine. You need to look under the fuel rail cover on the right side of the engine. The cover just pops off. There's a plastic checkvalve that attaches to the intake manifold. Mine was broken. Perhaps yours is too. Good luck

BTW I forgot to mention that the check valve is attached to the vacuum line going into the manifold. Another way to check for vacuum is at the servo. Pull the smaller vacuum hose off and touch it to you lip with the engine running. You should feel it suck. :grinshot
I spent the better part of a morning chasing the problem down. If it's the check valve, it's $6 at your local Chevy dealer.

I also had a problem with the cruise control, in my '96. I replaced the vacuum check valve by the fuel rail, but still no workie. Turns out there's a switch that works off the clutch pedal, so that when you press the clutch in, it disengages the cruise. You have to crawl up under the dash to find it. Mine had backed out of the mounting bracket. I pressed it back in, and secured it with a zip tie.

Hope this helps.

fixed cruise control

thank you for the help........ I was checking all the vacume lines for the cruise control, looked at check valve it was ok, then I took off the small vac. line off the servo checked for vac. no vacume. Well I followed the small line to the tee where it goes beside the battery back into the wire loom & I used my air comp. blew some air into the tube & I heard a leak beside the battery, pulled the battery out , battery acid wore a hole into the line. I cut the line &put a connector in & the cruise works beautifull....YES...it never worked as long as I 've had the car & also the idle was higher because of this. solved 2 problems.....thanks again for the help......rob..
