Does anyone know where I can purchase new/used MicroFueler injectors for my 90 B2K?

MicroFueler Injectors

Hi Luigi and thanks for the reply. I've been in contact with Callaway and unfortunately, they don't have them for my year and their supplier, Bosch, no longer supports this item. I did a cursory search for other vendors who might have NOS or rebuilt ones but have not been able to find any.

Thanks

Robert

Robert,

Did Callaway give you a Bosch part number or specification? It is always disturbing when we are not able to source replacements parts :eek

I'm supposed to get that next week from Callaway. I've also been told that Callaway has contacted Bosch regarding the situation. Are you aware if these MicroFueler Injectors are used in other applications? Apparently, the 1988 CTTC cars had one type and the 89-91 CTTC cars had another. This is a potentially problematic situation since there are hundreds of CTTC cars that might someday need replacements. Hope Callaway has an answer.

You can get any low impedance 75-80lb/hr injector and stick it in there.

Robert, Welcome to the Callaway Forum - I hope there is resolution to the temporary "fix" you have for now...

Guys, Robert has a VERY low mile B2K and the previous owner had some issues with the fitting of the injectors - they do not seat properly as a result - and may be the wrong ones in there now???

Here is a picture he sent me - I have not gone outside to look at my own (89) B2K yet -

Robert - Again, Welcome :beer

MicroFueler Injectors

Hi Josh and thanks for the information. As you can see from the picture that Chris posted with his message, I already have something that "works" but I"m an NCRS member and want this to be configured as it originally came from Callaway. I'm not sure if what I have is the correctly configured injectors but held in place with this non-original bracket or whether the injectors are, in fact, the wrong configuration. I sent the same picture that Chris posted to Mike Zoner at Callaway and he commented that they appeared too big. I've not tried to see if they can be pushed back into the rams horn because I don't know enough about it to start fooling around. The car seems to run fine so I don't want to undo what works until I know I've got something better. Did you obtain Bosch injectors that appear as original and function as intended? Who was your source? Can anyone tell by looking at the picture if these are the correct injectors?

Thanks again for helping me

Robert, I went out into the garage and shot a couple of pictures of my personal car - hopefully someone else can compare their 1990 however, I do believe the injectors to be the same as on my 89 (what should be on the car between 89 and 90) :cool

I hope this helps -

MicroFueler Injectors

Hi Chris, Josh:

Boy, are these great photos. Thanks. Am I seeing this wrong or does Chris's car have some type of grommet or O ring securing the injectors into the rams horn? Josh's does not appear as having them. From the photos, it looks like Chris's injectors are more firmly seated and it's only the ends of the injectors that are showing. Josh's photos show the ends plus some of the part that's actually in the rams horn.

How do I post pictures with my reply?

Thanks

Robert

The only difference in the two are Chris's end by the ramshorn is cleaner Chris's injectors ring is black and Josh's is a little oxidized that is all

Thanks for the reply. Does the photo of my microfueler injector appear to you to be further out of the ramshorn that Chris's or Josh's?

Robert, if you look at my second pic, you can see the rubber orings that go inside the ram's horn. Chris' pic doesn't have the angle to see it....they are the same except for the dirt :L

Of course my car has 10x the mileage :L

Hi Robert,

It appears that your injector are about 1/4 further out that the other pics posted. Maybe that is part of the problem and why they don't seat properly. I understand that Bosch makes short, middle length, and long injectors and possibly whoever serviced it previously went with the wrong ones causing the seating problem.

Robert, they do look longer than what the other cars have installed.

My car is an 89, Surf's an 88 and Luigi's is a 91 and all the injectors on our cars look to be the same...

If Bosch does make 3 different lengths, hopefully they will still have one in the correct flow to seat correctly, of could configure something for you. In the meantime, I hope this has helped a bit.

p.s. To post pics, you can either add them as an attachment (follow the steps under MANAGE ATTACHMENTS below in the frane when you make a reply) adding it to the post from the files on your pc - size must be below 85kb to upload...

- or go to a site like photobucket.com and upload the pics that way, then copy/paste the url to the reply in between

MicroFueler Injectors

Luigi, thanks for your help. Regarding the p/n that you posted, it's possible that there is more than one p/n for these injectors. Callaway told me that there was one injector for 88 and 89-91 had a different one. The picture I sent you of a "correct" injector was sent to me by Mike Zoner but I think he was sending me the image for purposes of looking at a proper configuration and not necessarily the exact one for my needs. I"m going to check tomorrow with Callaway for the p/n for all years and will post this information after I receive it.

Thanks again everyone.

MicroFueler Injectors

I heard from Callaway this morning. The correct p/n for the 88-91 microfueler injector is: B280410153. The one Luigi posted is for the 87 CTTC and will not work properly for the later ones. Please let me know if anyone locates this part.

Thanks

Robert
