Curb weights?

While the info you ask for isn't here for all years, The Model Center here at the CAC does have the info for several years. Start with the C4s and work forward and you'll get some of what you're looking for.

Thank you both. I notice the 2000 Convertible weighs 3248 pds and the 2001 convertible weighs 41 pds less at 3207. Any one know where the weight savings were made?


And what do the cars that share our drive trains... late model Z-28's and Trans Ams ...weigh?

Sure could be. But for year to year comparisons it makes the stats a bit useless if they're not kept as constant as possible. ;-)

I'm only guessing here but when they came out with the Z06 is 2000, they did things like reduce sound insulation and thinned out the glass. Perhaps they carried some of those methods over to the convertibles as well?

As for the F-body cousins; my buddy test drove an LS1 TA and noted that it felt very bulky and heavy.

I'd like to eventually get a few of those z06 goodies for my convertible, especially a titanium exhaust. Or an aftermarket titanium, if one weighs less than the stock z06 exhaust.

I don't think you'll have too difficult a time finding those Z06 exhausts. I've seen them advertised on this forum in the C5 parts for sale section. I forgot off hand how much they were asking but I do remember it was quite a bargain.

Less back pressure and less weight. What more could anyone ask for?:L:L
