Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, 6-Shooter. I think they're nicely done. It's too bad they make them to fit the Z06.

Hmm... someone is ornery tonight. As I've already said, because the Z06 seat doesn't have the hole in the headrest, they can't be used on a Z06. (They have a strap which goes through the hole to attach it to the headrest.) So it would do me no good to buy them.

The day I use superglue anywhere on my Z06 will be the day I invite the Corvette gods to smite me down. :W

I'm sensing that there was something not to your liking about your post-toasties this morning, 6-Shooter.

If you're referring to the louvers on my tail lights, they are screwed in using the same holes designed to hold the tail lights in place. Looks rather fetching, IMHO. :D

Yep U R Right . . .

I want to thank you Patrick for your support and your kind words.
Hope you have a great corvette season.

Patrick - I think U R Right . . . it is in the eye of the beholder. I like the looks of a Corvette pretty much stock . . . without all the ricer mods . . . but that's me.

If ya want your Corvette to look like a Ricer . . . Go for It! :upthumbs

No worries, Tom. This was just a dialogue on aesthetics. You know, my first Vette was a 1991 coupe, and one of the features it had that I really liked was a sort of molded/sculpted head rest. I miss that in the C5, and your headrest makes available an after-market option for C5 owners that want a similar sort of amenity.

Ricer, you say? Little story to impart here. I first saw my Z06 on the lot at a local dealership in December, 2003. The previous owner had attached a rear spoiler wing that looked atrocious. Worse, it cut out about a third of the view out the rear window when looking in the mirror. The previous owner's claim was that it somehow made the car more aerodynamic.

I flatly drew the line at owning a car that looked like it was trying to earn a part as an extra in The Fast & The Furious. Apparently, other potential buyers had the same comment to the dealer. Within two weeks, they had replaced the entire rear deck lid at their own expense (they had to- the previous owner had bolted the spoiler to the rear deck lid. There was no way to remove it without showing six gaping holes.)

I happened to get a call the day it returned from the body shop sans the spoiler. I bought it later that week.

So, clearly, I don't dig ricer mods. The tail light louvers are just a subtle touch to continue the black theme on the Z06.

6-Shooter,
I think you and I have a vastly different definition of "Ricer." To me, a car that qualifies as "Ricer" has completely non-functional add-ons (decals, front air dams, body kits, spoilers, etc) that are specifically intended to do nothing more than draw attention to how garish and gaudy they are.

I find nothing in what Tombone has done to his 'vert that qualifies as "ricer" under that definition. None of it strikes me as garish or gaudy. Indeed, there's a unified, integrated theme to the design. You may not like it. I, myself, tend to shy away from the sport bars behind the seats. But on balance, I think Tom has done a very good job at making his Vette truly his own.

-Patrick

Let me say, this is not a personal attack on Tombone or his Corvette, a persons Corvette is theirs to do with it as they please.

If you take a stock car and change it's appearance without adding any performance/horsepower the 1st thing that come to mind is ricer.

Sorry if I have offended anyone.

Great story Patrick thanks for sharing and here's one for our friend....:w

This is my car winning the Celebratory choice award from the C6 lead exterior designer Kirk Bennion this past summer at the GM Tech Center.
I was happy that day he liked "RICE".
Cheers, Tom.
