Cylinder heads

Anyone know about cylinder heads with casting numbers 3873487? If I could get some info on these I would appreciate it. Application, year(s), etc...

try this.. probably the most comprehensive site for casting numbers i have ever seen..http://www.mortec.com/castnum.htm oh yes.. we used the 487 and 487X heads on our hobby stock cars with excellent results.

Thanks for the info. It appears that the casting number 3873487 did not exist. The second digit is a 9 not an 8? I was given the number, I did not physically look at the heads myself. Can anyone tell me if there was such a cylinder head with the casting number 3873487?

I don't show 3873487 in any of my references, but there was also a 3876487 head used on 350's. Check the casting number again or post a close-up photo.
