Where the jack position marker is, on the drivers side I managed to punch a hole in the floor with the floor jack. I am really upset for such a stupid error and did learn a hard lesson. What should I use to repair this or should I bring it to a bodyshop. thank you.

How big is the hole? You can have someone look at it, might cost you a couple bucks for an estimate but you don't have to use them. A few things to consider, if you drive in the rain, moisture, condesation, rust, mice etc.

Exactly what part of the floor? Can you post a pic.?

It is about 3 inches L shape and 1/4 inche wide. In fiberglass and just across from the jack stand arrows in the front on the drivers side. There was a loud crack as the edge of the floor jack punched in. It should be easy to patch but I am not sure what material to use. If this is fiberglass then I should use that. Right now I have the defect stuffed with GOOP a house hold adhesive and sealant untill I can decide on a more permanant fix. My feeling is to have a bodyshop take look and hve a professional fix. Water and moisture would do lots of damage. Thank you.

I feel your pain.

A idiot at a muffler shop kicked the swing arm of their lift under mine and made a hole. I cleaned the area to bare fiberglass and patched it with a fiberglass kit from Autozone. A little sanding after it was cured and it's good as new. Wish I had something like undercoating to cover it so the patch would not be as visible.

Great idea, will get a kit and patch this. I had no idea it was this easy to damage the underside. will really take considerable care where to place the jack.

Pull out the seat, pull out the carpet and go to ACE hardware. They carry gel cote and the pigment color for the resen ,put some card board under the car mix up your resen with the pigment and pour it on the floor. Mix it hot so it sets up fast and it is fixed .Put some glass over it and set in place before you pour on the resen if needed.

When it sets up it should be the same color as the car if you mix the pigment right .
you may need to remember your school colors to mix it right color roygbiv to mix it.
red
orange
yellow
green
blue
indego
violet.
Mix color to get the right color pigment in the resen.
ACE is the place.

A previous owner had done this to my car, leaving a hole maybe 1-1.5" across. I filled it wih expanding foam insulation from a can, and it keeps the rain out.

Make sure you power wire brush away all the GOOP - it's silicone and any patch won't stick to it. I had cracks in my floorboard, and the brushing revealed the true length was almost double what I initially thought it was. You can fix it yourself, don't sweat it. Use 99% rubbing alcohol to clean the roughened surfaces for the patch to stick to.

If you repair from the inside, which I would do, then use masking tape on the bottom of the car to create a form. Yep, masking tape- cause the glass won't stick to it and it makes a form fitting mold. Thes other guys are right on with the glass mix up except you need to clean the area, inside & edges, with something a little stronger than alcohol. I use high grade laquer thinner.

well, I feel better now got fiberglass kit, messy stuff and repaired from the inside and outside. Looks great will sand and paint. Glad I looked inside hole right through without the proper repair this baby would have leaked. Thank you all for the fine advice. Did this putting on a set of ZR1 rims 315/35/17 rear and 275/40/17 front,GS off set. God but they are wide. Got them in Ebay with sumitomo tires balanced.
