Trying to replace the speaker on the drivers side in the dash. I can get the front dash loose but need to lower the steering colum alittle to get enough room to remove the front panel. I took out the bolts that are under the wiper over ride swtches and the colum will still not lower. Anyone tell me how to do this?

If you remove the left (drivers) pillar post moulding you should have enough room to lift the pag and get at the speaker w/o removing that dash.

Hope this helps.

As TRW points out, you do not need to remove the lower pad to replace the speakers. Remove the windshield trim molding and the single screw that holds the dash pad in place and you will be able to pull the dash pad forward to release the clips in the back and with a slight twist it will come out.
